It is with sadness that the Military Diocese heard of the death of Pat Andrew on 6th October 2025, Pat has been married to John for 65 years, John is the Military Diocese’s Finance Officer of long standing.
Pat and John’s large family include Stephen & Jane, James & Anne-Marie, Jon & Narelle, Mary & Peter, Margaret, Elizabeth, Catherine & Bernard. John and Pat have twenty-four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. To them, we offer our condolences and prayers.
Both Pat and John have contributed immensely to the Church throughout their married lives. They have been foundational members of St. Jude’s Catholic Parish, Holder, ACT since 1972, when the parish was just being established. Both took an active part as contributors in this parish community, Pat being a daily Mass goer. John has offered his financial expertise not only to the Military Diocese but also to the local Archdiocese as well as offering long term service to the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference.
We pray for the repose of Pat’s immortal soul; Requiem Mass is to be celebrated at St. Jude’s Holder on Thursday 16 October 2025.
St Paul in his letter to the Romans (Rom 14:7-12) states that “the life and death of each of us has its influence on others; if we live, we live for the Lord, so that alive or dead, we belong to the lord” Pat’s life has borne an immense influence especially on her family, an influence founded in the death and resurrection of Jesus, a life lived faithfully through her long life with all its challenges. She has been John’s greatest gift along with family.
We pray that Pat may enjoy eternal peace after a long life of faithful service to her loving God, family and community.
May the Lord bless John and the family with his comfort and continue to nurture them in love.
